The Washington State Department of Health developed a new map depicting potential risks from radon gas. Radon is a colorless, odorless byproduct created during the decay of uranium found in rocks. Since it is a gas , it can seep into homes and be inhaled by the occupants.

Maps show broader areas of radiation in Japan

Japan to map radioactive contaminated farmlands

Mainichi Japan reported the Japanese government will soon draw up a radioactive substance concentration map for farmlands. As part of measures to deal with radioactive material, the Japanese government will also conduct a study on contaminated debris from the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power
