    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contractors for the construction of the Downstream Toe Access Road, located directly at the toe of the downstream abutment of the Conant Brook Dam, in Monson, Massachusetts. The NAICS code for the work described below is 237310. The project is planned to be issued in February 2017, and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The construction will extend over a one-month period occurring in the spring or summer of 2017. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $100,000 to $150,000. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District.The location of work to be performed under this contract shall be at the Conant Brook Dam, located in Monson, Massachusetts.

    This project consists of the following components:



    -Clearing and grubbing of a grassy and brushy area located along the downstream toe of the dam

    -Placement and grading of rock fill and crushed stone surface fill to construct an access road to the outlet structure at the toe of the downstream face of the dam

    -Placement of a small amount of the fill will be in the edge of a pond that exists along part of the toe. A silt curtain will need to be installed in the pond.No rock excavation will be required, and the access road is planned to be approximately 350 feet long.

    The applicable NAICS code is 237310 with a Small Business Size Standard of $36,500,000. The project will be set aside for Small Businesses. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the New England District.

    Please note this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a request for proposals at this time, the solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about Jan 24, 2017. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov). All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the New England District.
